Our History
The University of Kentucky Eventing team has a rich history. Originally, we were paired with our dressage team, forming the University of Kentucky Dressage and Eventing Team (UKDET) in 2008. Most of our members competed in IDA competitions and USEA events at that time, although these were not intercollegiate events. This marked the beginning of our journey.

In 2014, the USEA Board of Governors approved the USEA intercollegiate eventing program, allowing our members to compete at intercollegiate events! The first intercollegiate event was hosted at Poplar Place, where we had three members compete. Our members continued to compete at IDA shows and intercollegiate events.

In 2018, our team underwent a significant change as the Eventing and Dressage teams separated, leading to the formation of the University of Kentucky Eventing Team (UKET). In the same year, our team demonstrated its competitive spirit by winning the spirit award at the USEA Intercollegiate Championships in Virginia, with just four members competing!

In the past two years, our team has nearly doubled in size and we now have close to 100 members. And in 2021, our team won the USEA Intercollegiate championship in Virginia! We continue to compete at international intercollegiate events, representing our school. If you want to join our team, don't hesitate to get in touch with one of our officers!
